Most business floors are an afterthought. Plain concrete, worn tile, or something generic that blends into the background. Smiley's Barbershop wanted something different - a floor that actually adds to the vibe of the space, not just something to walk on.
We came in, prepped the entire floor, and laid down a full black metallic epoxy system. The approach here was deliberate. Dark base coat first, then the metallic layers worked in to create that deep, liquid-looking finish with natural movement and depth running through it. No two metallic epoxy floors ever look exactly the same - that's part of what makes them so sharp in a commercial space.
One detail we're really proud of on this one - we used a custom hexagon stencil directly on the wet epoxy, mirroring the honeycomb light fixture overhead. It ties the whole room together in a way that feels intentional. The floor and the ceiling are basically having a conversation. That kind of design thinking is what separates a good epoxy job from a great one.
Beyond how it looks, metallic epoxy is genuinely practical for a high-traffic shop like this. It's seamless, so there are no grout lines or seams trapping hair and product. Easy to clean, holds up to foot traffic, and keeps that glassy shine for years with minimal maintenance. For a busy barbershop, that's a real win.
If your shop floor isn't doing anything for your brand right now, it's worth thinking about what it could be doing. A metallic epoxy floor like this one makes a statement before a single word is spoken - and it lasts.
